Water-Sewer Billing Collection Notice
October 23, 2012
 

Water/Sewer Billing Collection Notice:  Bills will be mailed on November 1, 2012, with payment due on or before December 5, 2012, without penalty.  After December 5, 2012, a 10% penalty will be assessed to all unpaid accounts.  The final date for payment will be January 4, 2013.  After January 4, 2012, water service will be terminated with no further notice, and an additional $50 charge will be assessed.  In order to restore service, payment must be made to the Village of Clayton by cashier's check, cash or money order (no personal checks) during business hours only.  There will be an additional $75 charge if service is requested to be restored outside of normal business hours.  Shutoff Day is Tuesday, January 22, 2013.

The Thousand Islands Snowmobile Club is sponsoring a Snowmobile Safety Course on November 15th and 16th at the Copely House, 12030 State Route 12E in Chaumont at 6 pm. The Village of Clayton intends to file an application for funding consideration with the USDA Rural Development Utilities Program.  The Village is also pursuing funding through the NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund. This project will include the rehabilitation of its existing sewer collection and pumping system within the Village. The project will benefit all residents in the Village that currently have municipal sewer service, and Town of Clayton customers that have Village sewer service. The estimated cost of this project is $4,112,000.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you to display your 911 Address prominently on your residence to assist emergency personnel in locating you should you require assistance.  In the event of an emergency, clearly posting your location will help emergency responders find your home or business faster.  A number of emergency response agencies are selling suitable signs at reasonable prices.  They are also available at most hardware outlets.

Sidewalk Snow Removal Requirements
December 11, 2007

Pursuant to §110-25 of the Village code, sidewalks must be cleared of snow within 24 hours after the accumulation. Snow removed from sidewalks and driveways shall NOT be placed in the streets, whether by shovel or by snowblower.

 

In addition, you can help during and after winter storms by making sure any fire hydrants located near your residence or business are clear of snow so the fire department can reach them in an emergency.

            Due to the Veterans' Day observation on November 12, 2007, the Village Board of Trustees meeting will be rescheduled for Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 6:30 PM in the Municipal Building.

Water-Sewer Billing November 1, 2007

Water/sewer bills will be sent November 1st to all Village of Clayton water/sewer customers.  Payment is due on December 5th without penalty.  Payments made after that date will be assessed a 10% penalty.  The final date for payment will be January 7th.  For accounts not paid in full by January 7th, water service will be terminated with no further notice, and an additional $50 charge will be assessed to the account.  In order to restore service, payment must be made to the Village of Clayton by cashier's check, cash or money order during business hours only.  There will be an additional $75 charge if service restoration is requested outside of normal business hours.  "Shutoff Day" will be Tuesday, January 22nd.

            The Village of Clayton Department of Public Works is now accepting applications for the position of Seasonal Laborer.  Applicants should be able to perform arduous and routine manual labor under all weather conditions, operate power equipment such as lawn mowers and yard equipment, and possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.  Applications are available at the Village Clerk's Office and must be submitted by Friday, May 18, 2007.
